San Juan Brewfest Policies

The San Juan Brewfest works to create a safe and fun environment for all attendees. 
By purchasing a ticket and/or participating in this event, you agree to the following policies:

Entry Requirements and Policies for San Juan Brewfest 2021

The San Juan Brewfest works to create a safe and fun environment for all attendees.  By purchasing a ticket and/or participating in this event, you agree to the entry protocol and the following policies:

Entry Requirements and Protocol

To protect the health of Brewfest attendees, vendors, volunteers, our employees, and our community at large, we are offering two options for entry to the San Juan Brewfest on August 28, 2021 and August 29, 2021 at Buckley Park in Durango, Colorado.

  1. proof of full Covid-19 vaccination
  2. or proof of a negative Covid-19 test within two days prior to the event

The acceptable forms of vaccination proof or Covid-19 test are as follows:

  • An original, official COVID-19 vaccination certificate or photo of an original, official COVID-19 vaccination certificate (Cell phone photos or myColorado™ app vaccination records are acceptable – all text must be legible). The name on the vaccination record must match the name on the ID of the attendee.
  • Fully vaccinated means you are two weeks removed from your second dose of Moderna or Pfizer, or two weeks removed from your single dose of Johnson & Johnson.
  • Dates:
    • If you are attending Saturday, your vaccination must show second dose of Moderna or Pfizer, or single dose of Johnson & Johnson, by August 14, 2021.
    • If you are attending Sunday, your vaccination must show second dose of Moderna or Pfizer, or single dose of Johnson & Johnson, by August 15, 2021.

The acceptable forms of a negative COVID-19 test are as follows:

  • A valid original negative Covid-19 Test (time-stamped within two days prior to event check-in).  Self-administered tests will not be accepted. The name on the test result  must match the name on the ID of the attendee.
  • Dates:
    • If you are attending Saturday August 28, your test must be time-stamped Thursday August 26, Friday August 27 or Saturday August 28. Tests results prior to Thursday are not acceptable.
    • If you are attending Sunday August 29, your test must be time-stamped Friday August 27, Saturday August 28 or Sunday August 29. Tests results prior to Friday are not acceptable.

Two rapid testing locations are available in Durango (YOU SHOULD MAKE AN APPOINTMENT at the link below to save time):

  • La Plata County Fairgrounds, 2500 Main Ave.
  • Supply of rapid tests is limited, first come first served
  • Hours –Thursday 10 am to 3 pm, Saturday 10 am to 3 pm
  • Fort Lewis College in the Stadium lot near the football field
  • Hours – Thursday and Friday 7 am to noon, Saturday 8 am to noon.

Refunds

  • If for any reason you cannot comply with these new requirements, a refund will be issued upon request. An email will be sent on Tuesday August 10 to everyone who purchased a ticket prior to these entry requirements being implemented that contains a link to initiate a refund.
  • If your rapid test comes back positive, upon submitting proof of that result, refunds can be issued after the event. A procedure will be announced soon.
  • Processing fees are NOT refundable, but the cost of the ticket is fully refundable.
  • Your tickets are fully transferable, so another option is to simply give them to someone else by forwarding them the email that you received when you purchased your tickets.

Drugs (Including Marijuana)

No drugs of any kind are allowed inside the event area, including marijuana. While marijuana is legal in Colorado, it is NOT legal to consume it outside of your home or the home of someone who gives you permission to consume it. This includes flower and edibles, as well as marijuana paraphernalia. 

Prescription drugs are allowed as needed.

Outside Alcohol

No outside alcohol is allowed inside the event area. We have plenty for you to try! If anyone appears inebriated at the gate, the Brewfest reserves the right to deny entry. Wait until you get here!

Backpacks

Small backpacks are allowed, but are subject to search. Any item specifically noted here, or anything else the event staff deem to be harmful or dangerous, will be disposed of, or the attendee can come back at a later time after the item(s) have been taken elsewhere. 

Weapons

No weapons of any kind are allowed inside the event area. This includes, but is not limited to, firearms, knives, and explosives. Small pocket knives may be allowed, but at the discretion of the San Juan Brewfest staff and/or their designees. Leave it at home!

Pets

No pets of any kind are allowed inside the event area. The only exceptions are for legitimate service animals. Emotional support animals are NOT allowed. Keep in mind the Brewfest is VERY crowded and while there is room for service animals, there will be areas that are very crowded. 

Children
No children, or anyone under 21, are allowed inside the event area. This includes infants.

Water Bottles

EMPTY water bottles are allowed inside the event area. A free water station is available at the event to fill your water bottle. Anyone bringing in a full or partially full bottle will be required to empty it before entering. Only EMPTY water bottles are allowed!

Aggression/Harassment

The San Juan Brewfest has a zero-tolerance policy for aggression or harassment of any kind.

Everyone should feel safe during the event, and we are dedicated to providing a harassment-free experience for everyone, regardless of gender, gender identity and expression, sexual orientation, disability, physical appearance, body size, race, age or religion. We do not tolerate any form of aggressive behavior or harassment of festival attendees, staff, volunteers, sponsors, or brewers.

If a participant breaks these policies, they will be removed from the San Juan Brewfest and the proper authorities will be notified. If someone or something makes you feel uncomfortable or unsafe, no matter how minor it may seem, please report it immediately to any San Juan Brewfest staff member or security guard so the situation can be addressed.

Underage Drinking and Overconsumption

The Brewfest also has a zero tolerance policy for underage drinking. Anyone inside the San Juan Brewfest event area without a wristband will be removed from the event and the proper authorities will be contacted. A wristband indicates a valid ID has been shown. Additionally, the San Juan Brewfest staff and/or its designees can ask for any attendee’s ID at any time during the event, even after entering the San Juan Brewfest event area.

The San Juan Brewfest has a zero tolerance policy for over-consuming. Anyone who appears to be intoxicated prior to entering the event can be denied entry. Anyone inside the event area who is intoxicated will be removed from the event. 

Don’t be a jerk, be of-age, and know your limits! 

This includes YOU!

All policies apply to EVERYONE at the San Juan Brewfest, including vendors, volunteers, bands, etc.

San Juan Brewfest staff and/or their designees have sole decision making authority on these issues, and their decisions are final.
