Q: When is the San Juan Brewfest?
A: Saturday August 25, 2018. The following year’s date is August 24, 2019. The Brewfest is always held the Saturday before Labor Day Weekend.
Q: Where is the San Juan Brewfest?
A: Buckley Park in Historic Downtown Durango. Buckley Park is located at 12th Street and Main Ave.
Q: What time does it start and end?
A: The Brewfest opens at noon for VIP ticket holders ONLY and at 1 pm for General Admission ticket holders. The event ends at 5 pm sharp.
Q: How much does it cost?
A: See our TICKETS page for ticket info. All proceeds benefit United Way of Southwest Colorado. No refunds, the Brewfest will go on rain or shine! We have sold out the Brewfest for the past four years and expect to do so again in 2018, so buy your tickets in advance. The San Juan Brewfest is a 21 and over event.
Q: Are kids allowed?
A: The Brewfest is an adult event only. Due to the large number of attendees kids are not allowed inside the event area. CHILDCARE is available right next door to the event at Nifty Nanny!
Q: Can I bring my dog?
A: No dogs allowed, leave the pooch at home please! No pets of any kind allowed.
Q: How does the event work?
A: Buy your VIP or General Admission TICKET in advance starting June 1, then sample as many of the beers as you like from your souvenir 5 oz tasting glass! There will be 50 craft breweries and distilleries in attendance, and each will bring at least two different beers, so there will be over different 100 beers for you to taste. The San Juan Brewfest encourages you to know your limits, drink responsibly and arrange in advance for a safe ride home. We will have Durango Police and security personnel at our event. Those who over-indulge will be asked to take a break or leave. LIVE MUSIC is also provided, click the link to see our lineup. Food will be available for purchase, see our VENDORS page for menus. All proceeds benefit United Way of Southwest Colorado, one of the best charities in the region! EVERYONE MUST HAVE VALID ID, NO EXCEPTIONS.
Q: What about designated drivers, do they have to pay to get in?
A: The San Juan Brewfest is partnering with the San Juan Basin Health Department’s Designated Driver program, and Four Corners Broadcasting, to reward designated drivers. Designated Drivers can enter the event for only $20, then receive a special wristband that earns the DD free non-alcoholic beverages inside the event as a reward for helping others to get home safely. Q: How do I avoid the lines when the gates open?
A: We offer an early check-in, starting at 10 am. Come to Buckley Park with your tickets, and you can check in early. We’ll give you your wristband, then you can come back when it’s your time to enter and get in quickly through the Re-Entry line!
Q: Will food be available?
A: We will have several food VENDORS at the event with food available for purchase. VIP ticket holders get food included with their ticket in the VIP Tent!
Q: What can I bring in to the Brewfest?
A: You can bring in a purse or backpack with personal items on it, such as your wallet, sunscreen, etc. It is also OK to bring a water bottle. We will have a free water station at the event courtesy of Well on Wheels.

Q: What’s the deal with the Thirsty 13 half marathon?
A: The Thirsty 13 is a half marathon in Durango that is on Saturday August 25, same day as the Brewfest, in the morning. Participants in the Thirsty 13 have an option to purchase a discounted ticket to the Brewfest with their entry to the race. For more info, go to Thirsty13Durango.com
Q: What are the transportation options to and from the Brewfest?
A: The City of Durango’s Main Avenue Trolley runs the length of Main Ave from the Iron Horse Inn to the Transit Center Downtown with multiple stops. It runs from 7 am to 10 pm every 30 minutes. If you live or are staying close to Downtown, just walk! Take the Animas River Trail and exit at Rotary Park, then just head south two blocks to Buckley Park.
