Bands

Live music brought to you by

Animas City Theatre

Friday - Magic Beans

Magic Beans have a passion for music that is as infectious as their songs, both of which have gained them national notoriety in a short time. The band honors the wide diaspora of American music by incorporating the flavors of funk, R’n’B, rock, soul, and even some country influence into a complete package that is noticeably their own. Their latest release, Unzipped, is an all-instrumental tribute to lo-fi recording techniques, hip hop beat tapes, and 90’s neo-soul. Seamlessly combining the familiar tones and accessible sounds of the past with a modern spin makes the band a hit with music fans of any generation. Their soulful songs and entrancing dance grooves will fill your cup and leave you wanting more, moving your body and your heart.

Saturday Headliner - Dragondeer

Dragondeer returns to the San Juan Brewfest stage after first performing in 2017. The Denver band has conjured the rhythm spirits to concoct a blend of Psychedelic Blues, Retro Funk, Soul and Rock-n-Roll into a genre blur that's aim is to speak to souls and keep the body moving. Four good friends that brew a musical alchemy that is song centric with a proclivity to stretch things out and see where the evening leads. Heard across radio waves, through the trees at festivals like Electric Forrest, Firefly, Telluride Blues, and on stage at Red Rocks, this band keeps growing and morphing and wants you in on the ride. Their new album was released in October 2023.

Saturday Opener - Little Wilderness

Little Wilderness hails from Durango, CO and is fresh off a set at Austin’s SWSW Music Festival. They embody homegrown rock n' roll that pays tribute to the environment around the Four Corners. Established in 2011, they have been a staple of the Durango musical community. Paul Henderson writes catchy tunes, sings, and plays guitar. Paul is joined by guitar wizard Dan Szabo, bassist Juan Lopez, and drummer David Sachs. In 2019, they released their full-length debut album, Big Tent, on Austin's own Flak Records. The album is an eclectic compilation of songs that were born in the era of loud amps and hard hitting drums. Little Wilderness takes pride in their craft, striving to be true to their roots and to inspire their listeners and counterparts to do the same. Rock 'n Roll will never die!

  • The San Juan Brewfest is GREENER than ever this year. Here are our sustainability efforts and how you can help!

We drink from a reusable tasting glass, not plastic cups, and have done so for a decade.

Recycle bins are placed throughout the venue, and attendees are encouraged to recycle.

Breweries serving from cans or bottles agree to recycle 100% of what they bring to the event.

Attendees are allowed to bring in an empty water bottle, and a water station is available to refill water bottles all day long. The water station is sponsored by Well on Wheels.

Attendees are encouraged to bring their own utensils to eat with. BYOF – bring your own fork!

Food vendors are strongly encouraged to offer low or no waste ways to serve their food.

Instead of using paper to vote for the People’s Choice Award, we have used a text to vote system for many years.

All City of Durango public transit is FREE both days of the Brewfest! Take the bus for safety and environmental reasons

The Brewfest includes in its policies Visit Durango’s Care for Durango pledge.

  • The San Juan Brewfest recognizes, publicly and intentionally, that we live, work, and organize on stolen and occupied traditional land that is just one piece of a larger, boundless terrain for Indigenous Peoples; Ute Tribe, Jicarilla Apache, Arapaho, Comanche, and the Diné Nations, and others. We acknowledge that 48 contemporary tribal nations are historically tied to the lands that make up the state of Colorado. The San Juan Brewfest would like to pay our respects to their elders, past and present, and choose to honor and acknowledge the original stewards of this land in hopes of building mutual respect and understanding across all cultures – those that reside here and those that pass through here today and in the future.
